Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old, and by human standards are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many other races find them hauntingly beautiful.

The Aquatic Elf: Aquatic elves are ancient ocean-dwelling kin of surface elves who live in coastal waters, valuing tight-knit communities and remaining wary of outsiders, though they form strong alliances once trust is earned. They are striking in appearance, with blue to green skin, dark hair, shimmering eyes of blue, gold, or silver, and distinctly aquatic features such as webbed limbs and visible gills.

Aquatic Elf ability adjustments: +2 Dex, -2 Int

Favored Class (Fighter): A multiclass aquatic elf's fighter class does not count when determining whether she suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing.
Languages: Elven, Common.
Bonus Languages: Aquan, Draconic, Giant.

Special Abilities

• Sleeplessness: Immune to spells and effects of the 'Sleep' subtype.
• Hardiness vs. Enchantments: +2 racial bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting spells.
• Skill Affinity (perception): +2 racial bonus to perception checks.
• Keen Senses: Elves make active Perception checks automatically and with no movement penalties.
• Darkvision: Aquatic elves can see very well in the dark.
• Weapon Proficiency (aquatic elf): Aquatic elves can use the trident and longspear at no penalty.
• Aquatic: +8 racial bonus on athletics checks while swimming and can always take 10 on such checks. Aquatic elves can breathe underwater and are immune to drowning effects.
