Drow, or dark elves, are a subterranean subrace of elves, sharing their kin's grace, longevity, and keen senses. They are typically slender and slightly shorter than other elves, with dark skin, pale hair, and sharp, striking features. Adapted to life below the surface, drow possess keen vision in darkness and a natural affinity for subtlety and precision.

The Sunwalker Drow: Sunwalker drow are those who have left the Underdark or were born on the surface, adapting over generations to a different way of life. Their features are more varied, with skin ranging from dark gray to ashen or even pale tones, and eyes of violet, blue, or amber rather than red. Less bound by the rigid traditions of the deep, Sunwalkers are often independent and introspective, balancing caution with a desire to define themselves beyond the shadows of their kin.

Sunwalker Drow ability adjustments: +2 Dex, +2 Wis, -2 Con

Favored Class (Ranger): A multiclass sunwalker drow's ranger class does not count when determining whether she suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing.
Languages: Elven, Common.
Bonus Languages: Undercommon, Sylvan, Draconic, Gnome, Halfling, home region.

Special Abilities

• Sleeplessness: Immune to spells and effects of the 'Sleep' subtype.
• Hardiness vs. Enchantments: +2 racial bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting spells.
• Skill Affinity (perception): +2 racial bonus to perception checks.
• Keen Senses: Elves make active Perception checks automatically and with no movement penalties.
• Darkvision: Drow are able to see in the dark.
• Weapon Proficiency (elf): Elves can use the longsword, rapier, shortbow, and longbow at no penalty.
• Light Sensitivity: -1 penalty to attack rolls and Perception checks in bright light.
• Skill Affinity (influence): Sunwalker drow have adapted somewhat to surface life, receiving a +2 bonus to influence checks.
• Spell-Like Abilities: A sunwalker drow with an Intelligence score of 13 or higher can use the following spell-like abilities. 1/hour - dancing lights, faerie fire. Due to time away from faezress radiation, caster level is only half the drow's total level.
