====== Stealth ====== **Ability:** Dexterity\\ **Requires Training:** No\\ Stealth represents a character's ability to move unseen and unheard, combining hiding and moving silently. Skilled characters can avoid detection using visual or auditory stealth, taking advantage of cover, shadows, low light, or small size. Invisible creatures automatically enter stealth mode.\\ **Uses:**\\ * Passive Stealth: Remain hidden if not detected; opposed Spot or Listen checks occur each round; movement normal. * Active Stealth: Deliberate stealth reduces movement, makes opposed Spot or Listen checks once per round; low light, cover, or small size grant bonuses. **Check:**\\ * Stealth is opposed by Spot or Listen; success means the character goes undetected. **Circumstantial Modifiers (Visual & Auditory):**\\ * Complete line-of-sight block, invisibility, or magical silence: Cannot detect * Partial cover: Bonus to stealth (low walls, foliage, terrain) * Armor or equipment noise: Penalty * Light / darkness: Low light helps, bright light hinders * Size: Small bonus, large penalty * Standing still: Easier to remain hidden * Distance & environmental noise: May help or hinder detection * Movement speed: Slower movement easier to hide **Other Uses:**\\ * Avoid detection by creatures, bypass enemies, or gain ambush advantage
